Nothing stands out as a miss. Kongguksu with tofu bits may not suit every palate.

The Visit

Did you know there is a Korean restaurant in Singapore that makes fresh tofu every single day?

Wonderful Bapsang at Suntec City is the first Korean restaurant in Singapore with its own tofu-making station. You can literally watch them craft tofu from scratch right near the entrance. No preservatives, no shortcuts, just soybeans and care. For a country that imports most of its Korean food, this is a pretty big deal.

The restaurant is run by Goldmoon Group, the same people behind Seoul Noodle Shop and Tonshou. The space itself is gorgeous, with a view of Suntec's Fountain of Wealth, and the menu leans heavily into homestyle Korean comfort food. Think your Korean halmeoni's cooking, but leveled up for city life.

The Tofu Station

This is really what makes Wonderful Bapsang different from every other Korean restaurant in Singapore. Most Korean restaurants here use commercially packaged tofu. Wonderful Bapsang makes theirs in-house, daily. You can see the tofu station working near the entrance, and that freshness translates directly into the food. The soondubu is silkier than what you get elsewhere, and the texture is noticeably different from store-bought.

What We Ordered

Hot Stone Bibimbap - Served piping hot on a stone bowl, giving it those coveted charred rice bits on the bottom. The vegetables are arranged neatly on top, and the gochujang sauce ties it all together. With the freshly made tofu on the side, this is a solid anchor order.

Soondubu Jjigae - The star of the show. Made with their house-made tofu, the stew is silky smooth and deeply comforting. The tofu practically melts on your tongue, and the broth has that slow-cooked depth that you do not get from instant packets. This is the dish that justifies the whole tofu-making station concept.

Assorted Jeon - If you do not know which jeon to get, this is the move. A selection of Korean pancakes that covers all the bases. Crispy outside, soft inside, and great for sharing.

Kongguksu - This one is interesting. Cold soybean noodles served with tofu bits. For me, I have never had it with tofu bits before. This is a hit or miss for the local palate, but I loved it. The tofu was silky, already pre-marinated. At $17.90, it is not cheap for noodles, but the quality is there.

Grilled Fish - Sizzling and crispy on the outside, super soft inside. One of those dishes that does not look like much on paper but surprises you with how good it actually is.

There was so much that I ordered that I wanted to share, but I could not fit all of it into 60 seconds or less.

The Verdict

The fresh tofu concept is what sets Wonderful Bapsang apart from every other Korean restaurant in Singapore. You are not just eating tofu here. You are eating tofu that was made hours ago, not days or weeks. That difference matters, and you can taste it.

The banchan spread is also generous, and the overall quality of the homestyle cooking is consistent. At around $20 per person, the pricing is reasonable for what you get, especially considering the made-from-scratch tofu.

So next time you are at Suntec City, drop by Wonderful Bapsang. Fresh tofu. Korean soul. Right here in Singapore.
